Adobe has introduced a powerful new generative AI feature called Firefly Bulk Create, designed to dramatically speed up large-scale image editing. The tool allows users to edit, resize, or remove backgrounds from as many as 10,000 images in a single click, reducing what once took hours into a matter of seconds.
Firefly Bulk Create is built by combining multiple Firefly-powered APIs and is aimed at making advanced AI tools accessible even to users without coding expertise. Currently available in beta on Adobe’s Firefly web app, the feature is split into two main tools: Remove Background and Resize.
With the Remove Background option, users can upload images directly from their computer, Dropbox, or Adobe Experience Manager. The AI automatically removes backgrounds with high efficiency, making it particularly useful for e-commerce teams and product marketers who need fast, consistent edits across large image libraries. Users can also replace backgrounds using specific colours or HEX codes, and export files in JPG or PNG formats, with PSD support expected soon.
The Resize feature is designed for marketers and designers working across multiple platforms. It includes preset dimensions for popular advertising formats on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Using generative AI, the tool intelligently resizes image backgrounds to fit each required format, simplifying cross-platform asset creation.
While the technology shows strong potential, Adobe has acknowledged that some complex images may experience slight warping during resizing. Even so, Firefly Bulk Create marks a significant step forward in AI-driven creative workflows, promising major productivity gains for designers and marketing teams.
